It has come to light that there are 12 local men from Old Colwyn, who were lost during WW1, and that their names do not appear on the local Cenotaph.
A local veteran & historian, Mr Diege Evans (RWF), when researching the names of the WW1 fallen in 2014 discovered that there were 35 missing from the Towns Cenotaph.
A further 12 local men have since been discovered It has also come to light that many families, at the time, couldn’t afford the sixpence fee to have their loved one’s names placed on the local memorial. Plans are now in motion to rectify this wrong in time for the 100 commemorations in November 2018.
